JetBlue loves Palm Springs more than ever for Winter 2019

This story is produced in partnership with PaxEx.Areo - The Business of Passenger Experience

JetBlue continues to grow at its favorite seasonal destination of Palm Springs, California. The carrier will resume its JFK flights with an extended season and more of the premium Mint service as well as adding new flights between Boston and the Southern California desert oasis. A portion of the season will also see JetBlue serve the route with its larger A321 all-core configuration, adding 50 daily seats to the market.

JFK Growth

This third season of service from JFK to Palm Springs will offer more flights and seats than ever before. The route reopens on 10 October 2018 and runs all the way through Memorial Day 2019. The vast majority of flights with operate on the A320 with a late evening departure westbound and a redeye return to the east coast. During the peak Spring season of 14 February to 30 April service will fly on the A321, adding significant additional capacity as well as an upgraded cabin product for passengers, including larger TVs at the seat and power outlets for passengers.

The two weeks around Christmas and New Years will once again see the company switch to daytime flights in both directions on a Mint-configured A321, offering the signature premium product to travelers. For an additional five weeks in the heart of Winter JetBlue will keep the Mint service flying on Saturdays, offering a little extra luxury for passengers escaping the gloom and snow.

Building Boston

The new Boston service will fly twice weekly (Mondays & Thursdays) with the typical late flight westward and redeye return on an A320 aircraft starting on 14 February 2019. This is the first time Boston and Palm Springs will be connected with nonstop service. Palm Springs is the 70th nonstop destination for JetBlue from its New England hub.

The carrier is also taking a slightly different tack in messaging on this announcement, highlighting connecting options in addition to the nonstop market. The release calls out Washington-DCA, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Cleveland as one-stop options via Boston. For the JFK JetBlue highlights the opportunity to connect to destinations across the globe on carriers such as Aer Lingus, EL AL, Emirates, Etihad, Icelandair, Qatar, and TAP Portugal.
