Following on the heels of their pseudo-devaluation of the SkyMiles program a couple weeks ago, word is trickling out that they are likely closing 9 of their Crown Room Clubs, starting in the next couple weeks. The affected airports include Boston, Seattle, Honolulu, San Juan, Phoenix, Denver, London, Kansas City and Cincinnati. They’re also planning on closing down the Business Elite lounges that they operate in their hubs for their international premium cabin passengers, one of a few perks that they have to differentiate themselves on a lot of routes.
This isn’t official yet, as no one from Delta has publicly said anything about this, but this sort of rumor often starts this way. We should know soon enough.
