Getting ready for an amazing August travel schedule

I didn’t get on a plane in July. That was hard for me. The good news, however, is that the next couple months should more than make up for it. I started to review my calendar today for the next few weeks and I’m quite delighted at what I’m seeing:

The fun starts this week as I take a vacation to Panama and Montevideo. I’m looking forward to visiting the UNESCO World Heritage site at Colon and also visiting the Canal locks again. They are truly incredible and this time I get to share the experience with my wife. Mid-month I get to visit Rio for a couple days (one night in town) to write a story for Airchive.com, one of several other websites I work with. And then, at the end of the month, it is back to Rio again for Labor Day weekend, this time with a bunch of friends.

I may not have done much flying in July, but August gets me more than 29,000 miles in the air. That’s the way I like it.  I should probably start packing soon, I suppose.

I hope you are coming back from MVD
The lines look as if you are going one way and not coming back!
    🙂

  2. There is a one-way trip in there, but it isn’t Montevideo. 😉

For that part of the trip I’m flying JFK-PTY-MVD and back with a 25 hour layover on the outbound and a 40 minute connection on the return. The next trip is JFK-GIG-JFK. And then EWR-MCO-DEN-IAH-GIG. I return from Rio the second time in September (GIG-GRU-EWR) but it isn’t on the August map.

  3. I was not impressed with Montevideo so would love to see your report; I think I missed something
