Check out this 10 minute news reel bit from 1947 about what goes in to making an airline run. Sure, LaGuardia looks a little different today and there are far fewer DC-3 and DC-4s flying. And there are computers rather than massive blackboards for reservations handling. But a lot of the process is really quite similar, too.
