Gogo 2Ku set to fly on GOL

Gogo's 737-500 test plane with the little hump in the back to support 2Ku service

Gogo hit another milestone with its 2Ku system this week, successfully adding its first install on GOL. The Brazilian carrier is set to install the kit on its full 140-ish aircraft fleet. This follows on the first install going live at Delta at the end of June and at Aeropmexico late last year. And, as is often the case, the timelapse video of the install is awesome.

Gogo also announced some interesting bits in its earnings call late last week around faster speeds and an accelerated installation pace for 2Ku on its airline customers. That’s all good news, both for the company as it seeks to bolster revenue numbers and for passengers who will see performance improve on hundred of aircraft in the next couple years. More details on that in my story on RGN.
