Video: Sunset in flight

Seems I’ve acquired a new toy and I’m putting it to use. It took me a while to become convinced that a GoPro camera was a necessary addition to my travel kit. Once I bought it, however, I was quickly converted. So much so that I then decided it was necessary to build my own mounting kit so I could point it out the window of a flight and capture the views. This is my first effort at a timelapse video based on that new setup.

The installation definitely attracted a few raised eyebrows, both from my seatmates and the flight attendants. But with the new rules about electronics usage they didn’t say anything or outwardly wonder. They just let me be. And I am pretty happy with the way things turned out. Definitely a few bits to optimize based on the first trial run, but I can see this being a lot of fun going forward.

    1. I actually don’t have a shot of it; I meant to grab one and forgot. I’ll try again on my return flight this weekend.

I probably should just get the suction cup instead, but this was fun to build.
