    Does it look for LY?

      Seth 22 July 2012 at 9:54 am |

Well, LY ins’t in oneworld and they aren’t a Qantas partner, so no.

That said, some LY searches can be run here: http://www.wandr.me/Award-Search.aspx/El-Al-Award-Availability and here: http://www.wandr.me/Award-Search.aspx/El-Al-Upgrade-Availability. Alerts can be set up here: http://www.wandr.me/Flight-Inventory-Alert.aspx/.

Not quite the same interface (I’m working on that) but the net result should be the same.

Hey Buddy- Just signed up for your “First Class” How long does it take to me in the system so that I can setup TXT Alerts???

You’re all set, Concorde123. Sorry it took a bit longer than usual; I was out shopping to prep for my next trip. :D

I can search LY at Qantas.com. I thought I could set the alert to LY.

Sorry about that, George….I honestly didn’t realize that Qantas had the partnership with El Al for awards. I just ran a test and it does, in fact, work. So for award inventory on El Al you can use this interface. For upgrades the other one I linked to is still preferred.

Awesome Seth. Now, I can totally just go to your site first for my travel searching. Great job!

    Great work!

I think this is a better way to check for LY options since it will only show availability that is bookable with AA.

Does putting in NYC work as well as making three different alerts for EWR, JFK and LGA?

You can use “NYC” as a city code, Ben. I just did a couple test runs to be sure.

I’m assuming this doesn’t work for JAL?

    1. Seth
      Seth 24 July 2012 at 7:23 am |

The search should include JAL inventory, Bob, but as seen by the QF systems.

Seth, is there an easy way to check if the alerts are working? I haven’t received any since setting them up.

    1. Seth
      Seth 24 July 2012 at 8:38 am |

Well, you can manually check the award inventory yourself and see if it is showing up but the alert isn’t triggering. If there is a specific alert you’re interested in I can also check the logs for you. Click on the “edit” button and then email me the number at the end of that URL.

But, by default, it will not send you an email if there are no award seats.

    Hi Seth,
The alerts have not been working for me since 9/17. Then randomly today, I got an alert today. I have many alerts set and know that it is not that there were not award seats, something seems to be broken. Are you aware of this from other subscribers?
Also, is there a different place you have a support FAQ?

Very cool, thank you! Seems worth upgrading to First Class membership just to say “Thank you!” (as well as the extra bennies).

One minor thing: when I enter my QF FF details, clicking “save” just reloads the page. There’s no error message or anything. It took me a while to realize that it actually did save and would now work.
