Lufthansa used the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) trade show in Berlin to announce the inaugural flights for sale under its new long haul LCC brand Eurowings. Eurowings is launching with two Airbus A330-200 planes and long haul flights will commence on 25 October 2015 according to the press release, though only flights in November and December appear to be for sale right now. Initial destinations include Dubai, Bangkok, Phuket, Varadero and Punta Cana.
Similar to the Germanwings LCC model Eurowings offers three fare families: Basic, Smart and Best. Basic includes airfare only while Smart also includes one checked bag and meals on board. Best gets a customer two checked bags and a Premium Economy seat on board the plane. Best fares are also eligible to earn points in the Miles & More loyalty program; other fares are not. There is also an extra legroom option available a la carte for Basic and Smart fares. On-board amenities include in-seat and streaming IFE plus wifi connectivity.

Tickets are initially being sold via the germanwings.com website and will transition to eurowings.com later in the year. Intro fares start at 99.99 EUR one way to Dubai though those cheap seats may already be gone; the lowest fare I’m seeing is 280 EUR one way.

Shame I need the BKK for may. It will make a nice addition to the Wizzair flights to Dubai though.
