Big updates for the Travel Tools

My Wandering Aramean Travel Tools site got a major upgrade this evening. Hopefully you won’t notice at all.

The volume of searches and alerts I was processing outgrew my old hosting provider and the database was unable to keep up. For the past few weeks I’ve been planning and today I executed on the update. The new database server is running pretty smoothly so far and I expect that some fine tuning over the weekend will further improve performance. In the mean time, I hope that this upgrade allows for a few new features to be added in the coming months and the existing stuff will run more smoothly.

If you see any strange behavior please let me know and I’ll see what I can do to fix it. But I don’t expect anything on that front.

    1. There’s always a chance. πŸ˜‰

It is on my list of things to work on but I’m not particularly optimistic. But with this out of the way I can revisit that problem.
